Each year, the Department of Spanish Studies formally recognizes and awards scholarships to outstanding Spanish majors and/or minors in an all-university awards banquet held every spring semester. The two scholarships that our department offers are the Elizabeth Myatt-Gamma Sigma Scholarship and the Gertrude Looney Scholarship. The funds awarded to scholarship winners are used to offset tuition costs. To apply for these scholarships, you must be a “declared” Spanish major or minor and be in good academic standing by maintaining a 3.0 overall GPA. Students receiving other outside or institutional scholarships (academic, endowed, Dyess, etc.) are not eligible to apply.
This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding Spanish major or minor. Students must be seniors to apply for this scholarship.
